Besides charred building components, a fire leaves soot, smoke and fire-fighting water. These can penetrate deep into the structure and, if not properly treated, have consequences for a long time. Fire damage restoration therefore has to be done carefully.
We take on the restoration as general contractor and proceed methodically: secure, strip out, clean, restore. Specialist contractors from our network carry out the work; we manage and supervise them. In doing so, we assess what can be kept and what has to be replaced.

Securing the property
We have the building and the affected areas secured, to limit consequential damage.
Strip-out of damaged components
Components damaged by fire or no longer structurally sound are stripped out in a controlled way and disposed of properly.
Cleaning of soot and residues
Walls, ceilings, floors and surfaces are cleaned of soot and fire residues.
Odour neutralisation
Fire odour settles into building components. The affected areas are treated to remove it permanently.
Rebuilding
Walls, ceilings, floors and surfaces are reinstated. We coordinate the trades required.
Transparent documentation
We document the damage and the measures taken. That makes it easier to liaise with your insurer.

Frequently asked questions
What should I do straight after a fire?
Get yourself and others to safety and wait until the fire service has cleared the building. Do not enter damaged areas without clearance. Then inform your insurer and contact us. The sooner restoration begins, the more effectively consequential damage can be limited.
Can fire odour be removed completely?
In many cases, yes. The causes within the building component have to be treated, not just the surface. How well this succeeds depends on the type and duration of exposure. We assess the damage and tell you openly what is realistic.
How does liaison with my insurer work?
Settlement is between you and your insurer. We document the damage and our measures transparently, which makes liaison easier. Your insurer decides which costs are covered.
Do I have to move out while the work is under way?
That depends on the extent of the damage. With heavy soot contamination or extensive strip-out, the home is usually not usable. After the survey, we will tell you what to expect.
